Half Moon Run had a fantastic show at TD Place.
The first tour of 2020 ended on a delightful note for Half Moon Run at TD Place on Friday. Singer Devon Portielje marked a hometown return with the show, and the band also celebrated their first arena concert. The show was almost sold-out. Many from the friend and family circle of Portielje were present at the concert.
A string quartet from Montreal that came with them added another layer of creamy texture to the songs’ intricate arrangements. The band is touring to promote their third album “A Blemish in the Great Light,” which is also selected as a nominee for the Juno Award for adult alternative album of the year. They played most of the songs from that album, including the single hit Favorite Boy along with old favorites from Dark Eyes like Call Me in the Afternoon, Full Circle, and She Wants to Know.
